James Lynch is a portfolio manager in the Fixed Income Division. He manages the municipal retail separately managed accounts (SMAs) and co-manages the US Municipal Intermediate-Term Bond, US Municipal Short-Term Bond, and US Municipal Short/Intermediate-Term Bond Strategies. James is an Investment Advisory Committee member of the Tax-Free Income Fund, Tax-Free Short-Intermediate Fund, Summit Municipal Funds, State Tax-Free Funds, New Jersey Tax-Free Bond Fund, and Maryland Tax-Free Bond Fund. James is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.
James’s investment experience began in 2007, and he has been with T. Rowe Price since 2008, beginning as an investment counselor in the Paramus, New Jersey, Investor Center. After that, he was an associate portfolio analyst and then a senior portfolio analyst in the Investment Specialist Group, responsible for covering the municipal and taxable low duration strategies. He also was a desk quantitative analyst responsible for quantitative support across the municipal franchise. In 2020, James became an associate portfolio manager, and in 2021 he assumed his current role. Prior to T. Rowe Price, James was employed by Ameriprise Financial as a financial advisor.
James earned a B.S., summa cum laude, in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Loyola University Maryland. He also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
