Amit Deshpande is the head of Quantitative Investments & Research in the Fixed Income Division. He co-manages the QM US Enhanced Aggregate Bond Index, US Government/Credit Bond, QM US Aggregate Bond Index, US Long Duration Credit, and US Long Duration Government/Credit Bond Strategies. He also co-manages the US Treasury Intermediate-Term Bond Index, US Treasury Long-Term Bond Index, US Inflation Protected Bond, US Short-Term Inflation Bond Index, and US Short-Term Inflation Focused Bond Strategies. He is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the QM U.S. Bond Index Fund and the Institutional Long Duration Credit Fund. He also is a member of the Fixed Income Steering Committee. Amit is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.

Amit’s investment experience began in 1996, and he has been with T. Rowe Price since 2017, beginning in the Fixed Income Division. Prior to this, Amit was employed by Daewoo Corporation as a trader; by Allied Capital Asset Management as a portfolio analyst; and in various roles at AllianceBernstein, the most recent of which included head of Fixed Income Investment Risk and head of Quantitative Portfolio Strategies and Fixed Income Quantitative Research and included assignments in New York and Tokyo. He also was head of Investment Risk for Charles Schwab Investment Management, where he was responsible for risk management across all asset classes. 

Amit earned a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Pune, India; an M.S. in finance from Syracuse University; and an M.B.A. from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, India. He also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® and Financial Risk Manager designations.
