Jim Murphy is the head of the Municipal Bond team and portfolio manager of the US Municipal High Yield Bond and US Municipal Intermediate High Yield Bond Strategies in the Fixed Income Division. He is a member of the Investment Advisory Committees of the State Tax-Free and Summit Municipal Funds, the Tax-Free High Yield and Intermediate Tax-Free High Yield Funds, and the Tax-Free Income and Tax-Free Short-Intermediate Funds. Jim also is an Investment Advisory Committee member of the New Jersey Tax-Free Bond, New York Tax-Free Bond, Summit Municipal Income, and Summit Municipal Intermediate Funds. He is a member of the Fixed Income Steering Committee. Jim is a trustee and treasurer for the T. Rowe Price Foundation and a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.

Jim's investment experience began in 1993, and he has been with T. Rowe Price since 2000, beginning as a portfolio manager in the Fixed Income Municipal department. In 2021, he assumed his current role. Prior to this, Jim was employed by Prudential Investments as a portfolio manager.

Jim earned a B.S. in finance from the University of Delaware and an M.B.A. in finance from Seton Hall University. He also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst^® designation.
