Alan Levenson is the chief U.S. economist in the Fixed Income Division. He contributes to the formulation of investment strategy and supports investment and client development activities throughout T. Rowe Price, specifically focusing on the outlook for the U.S. economy, inflation, and monetary policy. Alan is a vice president of the Fixed Income Series; the Multi-Sector Account Portfolios; and the Institutional Income, Reserve Investment, Summit, Summit Municipal, and State Tax-free Funds. He also is a vice president and Investment Advisory Committee member of the GNMA, Inflation Protected, New Income, Government Money, and Tax-Exempt Money Funds. Alan is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.

Alan’s investment experience began in 1987, and he has been with T. Rowe Price since 1998 in his current role. Prior to this, Alan was employed by Aubrey G. Lanston & Co., Inc., in New York City as a senior vice president and director of research. Before that, he was employed by UBS Securities as a vice president and money market economist.

Alan earned a B.A. in philosophy, with a minor concentration in economics, from Yale University and an M.B.A. and Ph.D. in economics from New York University, Stern School of Business.
