Mehmet Kinak is the global head of equity trading. Mehmet oversees T. Rowe Price’s trading desks globally, leading efforts to improve the firm’s long-term trade execution strategy. He works closely with brokers, exchanges, regulators, and policymakers around the world to evaluate market structure and regulatory developments. He is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.
Mehmet's investment experience began in 2003, and he has been with T. Rowe Price since 2000, beginning in the U.S. Equity Division. He worked as a portfolio accounting associate, investment liaison, portfolio implementation manager, and electronic trader before assuming his current role. Prior to assuming this expanded role in 2021, Mehmet was responsible for algorithmic trading and market structure advocacy in equities.
Mehmet earned a B.S. in finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Mehmet is a frequent contributor at forums surrounding U.S. equity markets. He is cochair of the New York Stock Exchange’s Institutional Traders Advisory Committee; serves on the Institutional Traders Advisory Committees of CBOE Global Markets, IEX Group, and Nasdaq; and chairs the Investment Company Institute’s Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee. Mehmet previously served as a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee. He is a Board member of the National Organization of Investment Professionals and a member of Virginia Tech’s Finance Advisory Board.
