Daniel Shear is portfolio manager for the Communications and Technology Strategy in the Global Equity Division. Most recently, he was an investment analyst on the media/telecom team. He is a vice president and Investment Advisory Committee member of the US Large-Cap Equity Income, Communications and Technology Equity, US Large-Cap Core Equity, and US All-Cap Opportunities Equity Strategies. Daniel is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc.

Daniel's investment experience began in 2015, and he has been with T. Rowe Price since 2020, beginning in the U.S. Equity Division. Prior to this, Daniel was an intern for the U.S. Equity Division in the summer of 2019. Before that, Daniel was employed by Uber Technologies as a strategic finance analyst. Daniel also was employed by Dodge & Cox as an equity research associate in the cable, telecom, consumer electronics, and memory semiconductors division.

Daniel earned an M.B.A., with a concentration in managerial and organization behavior, finance, and accounting, from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. He also earned a B.A. in economics and a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Chicago. Daniel also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
