Retirement confidence remains low
We conducted our Global Retirement Savers Study in mid-2025, which surveyed 7,000 workers across the UK, Australia, Canada, Japan and the US.

Half
of UK savers expect economic growth in the next 12 months.
Although economic outlooks vary globally: Japan and Canada show the most recession fears, while US, UK, and Australian savers remain more optimistic.
Only
31%
of global savers expect to maintain or improve their standard of living in retirement.
Confidence also differs significantly by gender, with women reporting much lower retirement confidence compared to men.
About
One third
of global retirement savers say they are excited for retirement.
This optimism correlates with stronger financial footing: confident savers are more likely to be higher earners and married.
At least
3 of 4
top financial advice sources for global savers are workplace-based.
Most still prefer these resources (websites, educational materials, tools) and human advisers over digital options.
