SFDR DISCLOSUR
30-Sep-2024 - David Stanley, Portfolio Manager,
The near-term backdrop of monetary easing, and healthy demand for credit, looks supportive. There is limited scope for tighter spreads, however, or for corporate fundamentals to improve much at this stage. Current yields can sustain inflows, but this may change as yields continue to fall. Meanwhile, geopolitics and the US election will continue to create uncertainty.

Fund Summary
We use proprietary, fundamental credit research to focus on identifying corporate bonds that offer attractive yields in relation to their credit fundamentals. We integrate financial, technical, legal and qualitative research with relative value analysis. Risk management is integral, with limits on both duration and yield curve exposures. The promotion of environmental and/or social characteristics is achieved through the fund's commitment to maintain at least 10% of the value of its portfolio invested in Sustainable Investments, as defined by the SFDR. Additionally, we apply a proprietary responsible screen (exclusion list). The manager is not constrained by the fund’s benchmark, which is used for performance comparison purposes only.

30-Sep-2024 - David Stanley, Portfolio Manager,
European corporate bonds produced a positive total return in September, as yields fell while credit spreads ended little changed. Spreads widened initially due to geopolitical concerns and company-specific news. Risk sentiment then returned, enabling spreads to narrow, as the European Central Bank reduced interest rates; the US Federal Reserve delivered a 50-basis-point policy rate cut, which was at the high end of expectations; and China announced economic stimulus measures. Within the portfolio, the standout positive performer was a large Italian bank. Its contribution was offset, however, by the underperformance of automotive-related names in the consumer cyclical sector, as well as a UK transportation company, which was downgraded two notches to high yield by ratings agency Moody’s. In terms of asset allocation, modest benefits from our underweight position in consumer noncyclical, and overweight exposures to banking and insurance were cancelled out by our small credit risk hedges.
