Strategy

Investment Objective

We look for companies that we believe have the potential for improving economic returns in the future and that we can buy at an attractive price. In a world of secular change, this means understanding the forces enhancing or erasing durable competitive advantage to correctly identify the winners and losers ahead of the market. The promotion of environmental and/or social characteristics is achieved through the fund's commitment to maintain at least 50% of the value of its portfolio invested in Sustainable Investments, while, at the same time, aiming for 100% of the value of the portfolio to have achieved the transition required to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees by 2050. The investment manager implements the following investment strategies: Net Zero Transition Framework, including engagement, sustainable investment exposure and application of a responsible exclusion screen, as well as a custom fossil fuel exclusion. The manager is not constrained by the fund’s benchmark, which is used for performance comparison purposes only.

Investment Approach

  • Single decision maker provides clear accountability.
  • Utilize a bottom-up approach to create a focused, high-conviction portfolio of companies which we believe are on the right side of change and in which we have insights about improving economic returns in the future that are not yet reflected in valuation.
  • Global research platform uses fundamental analysis to identify companies with superior and sustainable growth prospects, and improving fundamentals.
  • Macroeconomic and local market factors are integrated in stock selection decisions.
  • Valuation appeal is measured against local market and broad sector opportunity set.
  • Broad range of stocks across all capitalizations, incorporating developed and emerging markets.
  • Environmental, social and governance ("ESG") factors with particular focus on those considered most likely to have a material impact on the performance of the holdings or potential holdings in the funds’ portfolio are assessed. These ESG factors, which are incorporated into the investment process alongside financials, valuation, macro-economics and other factors, are components of the investment decision. Consequently, ESG factors are not the sole driver of an investment decision but are instead one of several important inputs considered during investment analysis.

Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.
