FACTSHEET
KID
31-Jan-2020 - Sebastien Mallet Portfolio Manager, Global Value Equity Fund,
Despite some risks, we see enough upside in share prices to retain a gently positive outlook for global equity markets. We continue to focus on selecting companies with strong free cash flow generation not yet fully appreciated by the market and with the scope to increase shareholder returns. We are finding many pockets of controversy where fundamentally sound, well-run businesses face unwarranted investor scepticism.

Overview
Strategy
Fund Summary
We employ a relative value approach that looks holistically across the value spectrum to identify companies with durable free cash flows that are not fully appreciated by the market. We aim to maintain a core portfolio of quality companies but will also pursue attractive risk/reward opportunities in out-of-favour cyclical companies and deep-value turnaround situations. The promotion of environmental and/or social characteristics is achieved through the fund's commitment to maintain at least 10% of the value of its portfolio invested in Sustainable Investments, as defined by the SFDR. Additionally, we apply a proprietary responsible screen (exclusion list). The manager is not constrained by the fund’s benchmark, which is used for performance comparison purposes only.

31-Jan-2026 - Sebastien Mallet Portfolio Manager,
Global equities rose in January, supported by generally favorable economic data and strong corporate earnings. Market volatility remained in focus, driven by geopolitical events such as the US capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and President Trump’s bid to acquire Greenland. Against this backdrop, value stocks outpaced their growth peers. Within the portfolio, stock selection in the information technology (IT) sector contributed significantly to relative performance. Shares of both a US data storage technology company and its long-term Japanese partner, soared after the former delivered stellar earnings, driven by substantially higher than expected sales growth. Both companies are benefiting from a surge in demand for NAND flash storage triggered by spending on AI and cloud infrastructure. The materials sector also contributed to relative returns, and in particular our holdings in precious metals-related names. Conversely, our choice of securities among industrials and business services names modestly held back portfolio returns, largely due to our holding in an outsourcer to the asset management industry. On a country basis, our holdings in the US, Japan, and Canada contributed to relative performance while the Netherlands and the UK detracted.
31-Jan-2024 - Sebastien Mallet Portfolio Manager,
In our view, market worries about interest rates and inflation could subside as major central banks, namely the US Federal Reserve, appear to be near a peak in their interest rate-hiking cycles. As a result, we have started to identify opportunities in the more cyclical and deep value areas of the value space. With this in mind, we have relative overweight positions in financials as well as the traditionally more defensive health care and utilities sectors. While we have increased our exposure to information technology, we remain largely underweight relative to the benchmark.
