SFDR DISCLOSURE
30-Sep-2024 - Scott Berg, Portfolio Manager,
We are now in a different part of the interest rate cycle with the US Federal Reserve cutting rates, which could create new opportunities as we see different stock winners and losers as a result. We are encouraged by the resiliency of our portfolio and are optimistic heading into the latter part of the year.

30-Sep-2024 - Scott Berg, Portfolio Manager,
Global equities managed to deliver positive returns in September. While volatility persisted across global markets, driven by heightened geopolitical and economic uncertainty, the US Federal Reserve’s decision to cut interest rates for the first time in four years helped lift equity returns into broadly positive territory. Within the portfolio, our holdings in communication services contributed the most to relative returns. Shares of a Southeast Asian mobile gaming and e-commerce platform gained ground amid China’s recently announced comprehensive stimulus measures, while continued positive sentiment originating from the company’s most recent earnings results also helped. We think the firm is a high-quality name that is achieving improvements in cost structure, and we also believe it should benefit from an improving competitive landscape driven by market consolidation. Conversely, stock selection in the information technology sector detracted. A semiconductor capital equipment vendor sold off. This followed the announcement of newly expanded Dutch export controls on chipmaking equipment to all countries, including China, one of its largest markets. We continue to have high conviction in the company, which is the world’s leading supplier of extreme ultraviolet lithography equipment used in laying down circuitry, the most critical step in manufacturing the latest generation of semiconductor chips.
31-Dec-2023 - Scott Berg, Portfolio Manager,
We have an overweight position in financials. We currently have exposure to what we believe are high-quality US banks but are meaningfully underweight European and Japanese banks that broadly have more negative credit exposure. We have more exposure to insurance companies than we have typically had in the past, as an improving pricing environment and better yields on portfolio investments have created a positive near- and medium-term setup. We continue to own several emerging market financials we believe are undervalued and underappreciated and have exposure to high-quality alternative asset managers and leading capital markets companies.
