We join many around the world in profound sadness and outrage over recent acts of violence and harassment impacting the Asian and Pacific Islander community, including the recent shootings in Georgia. And we condemn the bias and bigotry that so often lead to these incidents. These events have a lasting emotional impact, and we stand with all those affected by them in any way.

Given the surge in acts of violence and discrimination over the past year, we must acknowledge that the trauma of the coronavirus pandemic has been further compounded by the trauma of racism and hate incidences. We are proud to demonstrate our support of the pan-Asian community, and we will work together with trust, mutual respect, and active allyship. We all can make a difference through our actions and our words and show the strength that comes from diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its forms.
