Privacy Policy

T. Rowe Price recognizes the importance of protecting your personal and financial information. In the course of doing business with T. Rowe Price, you share personal and financial information with us. We treat this information as confidential and recognize the importance of protecting access to it.

You may provide information when communicating or transacting with us in writing, electronically, or by phone. For instance, information may come from applications, requests for forms or literature, and your transactions and account positions with us. On occasion, such information may come from consumer reporting agencies and those providing services to us.

We do not sell information about current or former customers to any third parties, and we do not disclose it to third parties unless necessary to process a transaction, service an account, or as otherwise permitted by law. We may share information within the T. Rowe Price family of companies in the course of providing or offering products and services to best meet your investing needs. We may also share that information with companies that perform administrative or marketing services for T. Rowe Price; with a research firm we have hired; or with a business partner, such as a bank or insurance company, with which we are developing or offering investment products. When we enter into such a relationship, our contracts restrict the companies' use of our customer information, prohibiting them from sharing or using it for any purposes other than those for which they were hired.

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. Within T. Rowe Price, access to such information is limited to those who need it to perform their jobs, such as servicing your accounts, resolving problems, or informing you of new products or services. Our Code of Ethics, which applies to all employees, restricts the use of customer information and requires that it be held in strict confidence.

Online privacy practices

Our practices concerning information gathered during online sessions are explained below. These practices are consistent with and remain subject to our Privacy Policy above.

Information Collected and Use

Our Web site utilizes a variety of technologies (such as cookies and Web beacons) to collect, store, and aggregate data about usage. The use of these technologies helps us analyze and tailor the site for all users and better understand how our site is used, which features or pages are most popular, and browsing and usage patterns. Whether personally identifiable information is collected during your visit will depend on how the website is accessed.

Except as noted below for certain users, we do not have any personally identifiable information about you unless you choose to give us such information during an online session (for example, by requesting that literature be sent to you). While we track the general usage patterns for all visitors (such as pages visited and time spent on our site), we are not able to link this information as specifically belonging to you. If you do give us personal information during your session, we will collect that information and use it to service your request and as otherwise described above. Also, if you use tools or have subscribed to our e-mail program, see the additional information below.

If you are a registered user of our website who has enabled online access for your account(s), we collect all information that you submit through an online session, such as a transaction you’ve requested us to make. Also, we will recognize you each time you visit our site, even if you do not log in to conduct a transaction or check your balances. In this manner, your general usage patterns and other information noted above would be linked to you specifically. This information can be useful to us when assessing and offering tools and other features for you.

On some of our sites that allow users to post comments, we may offer you the option to sign on using your third-party social network login credentials such as for your Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn account. If you choose to sign on to our site using your third-party social network credentials, the social network will obtain (or request) your consent for us to access and use available information from your social network profile. This consent will include a list of the types of categories of data that we may obtain from your social network profile, e.g., your name, age, gender, location, e-mail address, profile picture and information, and list of friends. The information we collect from and about you may be used for our business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, developing new products and services, enhancing our sites, improving our services, personalizing your experiences, sending financial education tips and tools to you, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and as otherwise described above.

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. Certain Web pages and areas of our site may have content suitable for children. For example, certain pages on our Money Confident Kids site may contain information and games suitable for children of all ages. However, we do not collect or allow children to submit any personal information on these pages, nor do we target any advertising to children under 13. If you are a parent and you believe we have collected personal information from your child who is under 13 years old, you may e-mail to report this. If we discover that we have in fact collected such information, we will immediately delete it.

In all cases, if you use a tool, calculator, or analyzer, your inputs will only be collected and stored if you elect to save the information for your future use. Otherwise, your inputs are not preserved beyond the end of your online session. If you elect to save the information, we do not store it in a manner that is personally identifiable or link it to other information we may have about you.

If you have online account access with us, you can change your e-mail preferences by going to, logging in, and then updating your e-mail preferences. We also include instructions and links for unsubscribing from these mailings in T. Rowe Price e-mails.

Please note that if you are a participant in an employer-sponsored retirement plan for which T. Rowe Price Retirement Plan Services provides recordkeeping services, we may, at the plan sponsor’s direction, continue to send you e-mails regarding the retirement plan and related matters.

  2. Disclosure to Third Parties. T. Rowe Price does not sell e-mail addresses to anyone, although we may disclose e-mail addresses to third parties that perform administrative or marketing services for us as described above. To help gauge the effectiveness of our e-mails or social media messaging, we may track receipt of e-mails or be provided with anonymous statistical information from the social media provider.

  3. Social Network Sign on. If you are on a part of our site that allows you to post comments, you may have the option to sign on using your third-party social networking login credentials, such as for your Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn account. Please see the Information Collection and Use section above for more information.

Occasionally, we conduct voluntary surveys regarding our website or other products or services. The information you provide is collectively used for analytical purposes. You will not receive unsolicited communications as a result of participation in a survey if you notify us not to contact you.

We may use third parties to serve (i.e., place) advertisements for us on other websites, including banner advertisements. These third parties may collect information through the use of cookies and action tags (referred to as Web beacons and GIF tags). Visit the Network Advertising Initiative for further information, including how to opt out of third-party cookies.
