Rowe Price including Maryland College Investment Plan accounts, Alaska 529 accounts, T. Rowe Price College Savings Plan accounts, small business retirement accounts at T. Rowe Price, including 403(b)(7), Individual 401(k), SIMPLE, SEP and SAR-SEP accounts and Workplace Retirement Plans. Please contact us for assistance with these account types.
By submitting responses through this online service, I agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. If, for any reason, I do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, I will not proceed with notifying T. Rowe Price of the account holder’s death using this online service available on T. Rowe Price’s Personal Investing website (“Service”).
I understand that the data I submit will be subject to the U.S. and Canada Privacy Notice.
I understand that providing notification through this website is not the only way to notify T. Rowe Price of the death of an account holder. I understand I can also contact T. Rowe Price by phone at 1-800-225-5132 or by mail at P.O. Box 17302, Baltimore, MD 21297-1302.
I certify and agree that I will provide my name and contact details where requested as part of this notification process, and I will provide valid and accurate information.
I acknowledge that employees of T. Rowe Price are only permitted to discuss account information with an authorized party, such as an executor or beneficiary.
I understand that by submitting the information requested through this website, the only thing that I am doing is notifying T. Rowe Price of the death of an individual whom I believe is the owner of an account serviced by T. Rowe Price. I understand that providing such notification will not cause the establishment of an account or other service and does not entitle me to any ownership interest or other benefits in any accounts or services with T. Rowe Price. I understand that if T. Rowe Price is able to locate an account based on the information I provide, the account will be frozen, and account services will be suspended. In the event T. Rowe Price is unable to locate an account based on the information provided, no services will be suspended until T. Rowe Price is able to receive additional identifying information.
I understand that T. Rowe Price does not provide legal or tax advice. I will consult my tax or financial professional regarding questions specific to my situation.
Electronic Access and Delivery
I understand that if I elect to use this website to notify T. Rowe Price of the death of an account holder, that I may be submitting personal information, including but not limited to, my name; residential address; phone number; email address; and my relationship to the decedent. In addition, I will be prompted to submit the name of the decedent and at least one of the following types of personal information of the decedent: residential address; date of birth; Social Security number; and/or account number, as well as a copy of a death certificate.
I understand that after I click “Agree & Schedule Meeting,” I will receive an email at the email address I provided during the notification process using this Service, which will contain a calendar appointment, a confirmation number and a link for canceling or rescheduling as needed.
To receive email alerts, I understand that my computer must be capable of receiving emails. If my email address changes, I understand that I must update my email promptly by calling 1-800-225-5132. Although most Internet Service Providers allow unlimited usage, some may charge or have usage limits, and I understand that I am responsible for additional charges incurred. If I need technical assistance, I understand that I may call T. Rowe Price Technical Support at 1-888-358-8490. Representatives are available weekdays from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
I certify that I am able to access all the disclosures online without additional hardware or software, and I consent to provide details regarding me and the decedent electronically and I understand I may receive an email confirmation upon submission.
Modifications
T. Rowe Price reserves the right to modify, add, suspend or terminate these Terms & Conditions as described in this section (“Updated Terms & Conditions”). Therefore, I will review such Updated Terms & Conditions, as applicable, before using the Service. The Updated Terms & Conditions will be effective as of the time of posting, or such later date as may be specified in the Updated Terms & Conditions and will apply to my use of the Service from that point forward.
Term and Termination
T. Rowe Price reserves the right to terminate my access to and use of the Service and any of its features in its sole discretion, without notice and liability, including, without limitation, if T. Rowe Price believes my conduct fails to conform to these Terms & Conditions. T. Rowe Price also reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of these Terms & Conditions. Any violation of these Terms & Conditions may be referred to law enforcement authorities. Upon termination of my access to the Service, or upon demand from T. Rowe Price, all rights granted to me under these Terms & Conditions will cease immediately, and I agree that I will immediately discontinue use of the Service. T. Rowe Price also reserves the exclusive right to modify, withdraw, suspend or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, at any time and from time to time, the Service, without limitation, in whole or in part, including the cessation of all activities associated with the Service, with or without notice. I agree that T. Rowe Price will not be liable to me or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of the Service or any part thereof.
Indemnification/Reimbursement
Subject to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I agree to defend, indemnify (reimburse/pay for), and hold T. Rowe Price and its affiliates harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, costs, investigations, liabilities, judgments, settlements, and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, that directly or indirectly arise from or are otherwise directly or indirectly related to:
- my use of the Service or activities in connection with the Service;
- my breach (actual or alleged) or anticipatory breach of these Terms & Conditions;
- my violation of any laws, rules, regulations, codes, statutes, ordinances or orders of any governmental and quasigovernmental authorities, including, without limitation, all regulatory, administrative and legislative authorities; or any misrepresentation made by me. I will cooperate as fully required by T. Rowe Price and its affiliates in the defense of any claim. T. Rowe Price and its affiliates reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by me, and I will not in any event settle any claim without the prior written consent of a duly authorized employee of the T. Rowe Price and its affiliates. HOWEVER, ONLY IF REQUIRED BY LAW IN MY JURISDICTION, THIS RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFICATION COMMITMENT DOES NOT APPLY TO CASES OF BODILY INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE OR TO THE EXTENT THAT ANY DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY IS CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF T. ROWE PRICE OR OTHER THIRD PARTY, WHERE LIABILITY TO THE INJURED PARTY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED BY LAW.
Governing Law
THESE TERMS AND THE INTERPRETATION OF THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS WILL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND, WITHOUT REGARD TO ITS CONFLICTS OF LAWS PRINCIPLES.
Effective Date and Additional Changes
The effective date of these Terms & Conditions is November 17, 2022. From time to time, T. Rowe Price may change these Terms & Conditions. When they are revised or materially changed, T. Rowe Price will update the effective date. I can determine whether there have been any changes since the last time I reviewed them by simply checking the effective date.
